April 2019 -- Pending Bar Complaint against Martin Ighani Esquire (In-house Corporate Counsel for CIG)

In late January 2019, we filed a complaint with the California Department of Insurance . In late February 2019 we received a forced response from CIG's in house counsel Martin Ighani, Esquire.

Buried on the second page Martin claims this dispute is about a disagreement of facts related to a crash and nothing more. Given there are so many photos, video screen grabs and and very distinct damage patterns, why didn't he just provide photos and a sketch to show their position opposing ours and be done with this?

Martin went into very specific "written" details about the nature of the crash, the impact points and Ric's behavior during the investigation. Unfortunately, ever single word he wrote can be shown to be false with photos.

When one has no facts to back up an absent investigation, a fraudulent fault declaration, a subsequent fraudulent second declaration, it means the attorney tasked with letter writing must 1) capitulate or 2) lie in writing.

We view Martin's written response to the California Department of Insurance in the exact same light we'd view deposition testimony or testimony given during a trial. From what I understand, there is a Rule 11 related to attorney behavior and facts, but maybe that is only at the federal level, so unless that applies we'll stick with CA Bar rules related to false statements to others.
